Aileen Wilson lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently associate professor in Art and Design Education, Pratt Institute.  Research interests include gothic and violent content in adolescent drawing; integrating contemporary artists’ ideas and processes into art education studio classes and visualizing research design in art education. She earned a B.A. (Hons) 1st class Printmaking/Painting, Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, Scotland, an M.A. in Printmaking, Chelsea School of Art, London, UK, an Ed. M. Art/Art Education, Teacher’s College, Columbia University, New York City and is currently a doctoral student in Art/Art Education, Teacher’s College, Columbia University, New York City. She was confirmed as Fulbright specialist roster candidate 2010-2015. Recent projects include Neo-nomads: what travels with you? a group exhibition with Kim Beck, Adam Brent, Emily Henretta, Sangbin IM, McKendree Key, Ward Shelley, and Traci Talasco. Curated by Aileen Wilson, Baseera Khan and Anne-Laure Fayard at the Rotunda Gallery, Brooklyn, New York. January 19 – February 26, 2011, as well as conference presentations including From Studio to Classroom: The ‘confessional tale’ of a studio class for pre-service teachers with Hannah Brenner –Leonard, Jane Rothberg & Danielle Barbaro at the NAEA Annual Convention, Baltimore, MD. April 14-18, 2010.
